Food and menu photography
Food and menu photography that makes people hungry
A food photographer for restaurants, cafés and takeaways, shooting on location across Central Scotland.

Forth Media is a food photographer for restaurants, cafés and takeaways across Central Scotland. We shoot menu, social media and delivery-app photos on location in Fife, Lanarkshire, Stirling, Falkirk and West Lothian, with edited images delivered within 2–5 working days, depending on the scope of the shoot. The shoot happens at your venue, with your real dishes, so customers get exactly what they see.
Why your food photos matter
People eat with their eyes first, and these days that happens on a phone. Before someone books a table or orders from a delivery app, they’ve already looked at your photos. Dark, blurry or out-of-date pictures make good food look average. Bright, honest, well-styled photos make people hungry and help them choose you.

Professional food photography, shot at your venue
We bring the lights, backgrounds and props to you. Your chef plates the dishes as they would for a customer, and we take care of the styling, lighting and angles. Most shoots fit around a quiet part of your day, so service isn’t disrupted.
Restaurant photography: the food and the feel
Restaurant photography isn’t only about plates. We also capture the room, the bar, the kitchen and the people, so customers get a feel for the place before they visit. That’s what makes someone choose you for a birthday dinner or a Friday night.
Restaurant food photography for menus and delivery apps
Menu and delivery-app photos need to be consistent: the same angle, light and background across every dish. We plan a shot list with you before the shoot so every item on the menu is covered.
Food photography services for food and drink brands
Not a restaurant? We also shoot packshots and lifestyle images for local food and drink producers, bakeries and coffee roasters, for websites, online shops and wholesale listings.

- DeliverYou get edited images ready for your menu, website, socials and delivery apps.
How to prepare for a menu photoshoot
A little preparation makes a big difference to the final photos. Here’s what we ask restaurants to do before we arrive:
- Send us the menu. We’ll agree which dishes to shoot first, usually your bestsellers and anything new.
- Prep ingredients as normal. We want the dishes to look exactly as customers get them, just plated with a bit of extra care.
- Choose a quiet time. Mid-morning or mid-afternoon usually works best, so the kitchen isn’t rushed.
- Clear a table near a window. We bring our own lights, but some natural light always helps.
- Think about the extras. Drinks, desserts, the bar and the team at work all make great photos for social media.
On the day, plan for each dish to come out one at a time. We photograph it straight away, while it still looks fresh, and the team can eat it afterwards. Nothing goes to waste.
What happens after the shoot
We select the best images, edit them for colour and consistency, and send you a download link with versions sized for print, web and social. If you’d like help using them, our social media team can schedule the photos into your feed for the weeks ahead.
